plainlogOpen the app
A bullet journal that’s still just text.
Rapid logging, monthly migration, morning rituals — the real method, kept in plain-text files you own. On every device, synced however you like.
No account needed — ever. Your journal starts on this device; sign-in exists only for sync.

Rapid logging
Type ". task", "o event", "- note". Signifiers * ! ? = mark priority, inspiration, questions, insight. One line per thought, the way the method intends — and a task or event can hold subtasks, one level down: the parent only counts them, and the family migrates together. A four-step first-run tour teaches it in a minute.
The daily ritual
A morning (or evening) ceremony closes the day that ended: done, carried into today, or let go — every carry pressed by hand. Monthly migration reviews and archives. Nothing silently rots in a backlog.
Sync, end-to-end encrypted
Your journal is .txt files on your device. Sync runs through the plainlog server, which only ever holds ciphertext — passkey sign-in, paired devices, recovery codes. Leave anytime.
Index, logs, collections
Index, Future, Monthly and Daily logs plus free-form collections — the full notebook structure, cross-linked automatically.
Focus & habits
Optional monthly sections: desired outcomes, and a habit tracker with a plan — name the columns, mark the days the month asks for, and month-end statistics count against the plan.

App lock
A four-digit PIN, biometric unlock where the device offers it, and a mailed reset. It hides the interface — the files stay yours.
Leave with everything
One click in Settings downloads the whole journal as a zip, assembled on your device — the server can’t even build it: it only ever holds ciphertext.
Installs like an app
The web app installs to your home screen or dock and works offline — offline is the default, not a mode. Native apps are on the way.

Inside the line
A markdown subset, nothing more: links, **bold**, *italic* and `code` inside a line. No headings, lists or tables — the line is the unit. The file stays plain text, markers and all.
